Can you tell me about the different types of Shampoo?
About different Shampoo types:
1. All-purpose – simple cleanser low alkaline / low surface active agent – mild may include anti fungus / dandruff agents.
2. Acid-balanced [4.5-5.5] – cleanses chemically treated hair, without removing colour.
3. Plain – for strong non-chemically treated or damaged hair, contain high alkaline or soap base. Best followed with acidic rinse balance restorer.
4. Soapless – lather/rinse well soft tank water or mineralized hard waters. Constituents : synthetic detergent oils, treated with sulphuric acid.
5. Medicated – Beauty or Prescription : Treat specific scalp, hair disorders.
6. Clarifying – higher alkalinity remove product residues, dirt.
7. Anti-dandruff – treat flaking scalp, formulated for dry or oily; contain germicides, anti-fungus, conditioners. Massaging scalp vigorously, rinsing thoroughly.
8. Liquid-Dry – if unable to shampoo using water [unwell/injured - can dry hair]. Loosens dirt/oils on cotton, gently blotted/towel dried to clean, & used for Wigs/Hair Pieces [Hazard: flammable evaporant].
9. Powder-Dry Orris root powder, for bedridden, absorbing oils/dirt. Alternately brush/towel wipe [never before chemical service].
10. Conditioning Strengthens, improves look, using animal/vegetable proteins/minerals - may last several washes.
11. Colour Shampoos Enhances with colour pigmentation, may last several washes.
12. Thinning Hair gives fuller look [with light molecular ingredients].
